Grey Kitty – In The Business of Making Smiles

Well, well, well, look who stumbled upon my little corner of the internet! Okay, I actually don’t know you. Still. Gotta say, I’m kinda shocked, but the good kind—like finding a forgotten tenner in your coat pocket on a dreary Monday. I’ve had this site idea bouncing around in my head like a hyperactive cat chasing its own shadow, but adulting can be quite the demanding distraction, pulling me away like a Netflix binge session when I should be writing/working. (We’ve all been there, right?)

For the past couple of years, I’ve been on a mission or crusade (to make ends meet) really, turns out it looks a lot like freelance graphic design work—and to that end my mission has been to banish boring business cards from the planet. I mean, they’re tiny pieces of marketing magic! I’ve teamed up with all sorts of folks, like people in need of pet setting business cards helping save fluffy kitties and pups from boredom to those hard-working auto repair heroes bringing cars back from their last limping groan. And I feel, to some extent it was through the business cards I have designed for them that they were able to stand out.

Maybe you’re at a networking event, cocktail in one hand, trying to remember if it’s Mark or Mike you’re talking to (because, let’s be honest, who remembers names?). Suddenly, bam! They whip out a sleek business card that would make George Clooney blink twice. Impressive, right? That’s the type of jaw-dropping effect I love creating as a graphic designer.

Small local businesses have been my playground for the last couple of years.

Think about it–a business card isn’t just a card; it’s the first impression most people will have. And we all know you never get a second chance at a first impression, am I right? Each card I craft is its own little masterpiece–a little mini-marketing wonder: colors popping like a piñata, fonts so sharp they could cut glass, and logos that tell stories more intriguing than anything on basic cable.

And guess what? The love doesn’t stop there! Oh no, my creativity knows no bounds. I’m pretty much your one-stop creativity shop for flyers that catch eyes like a glitter storm, banners bigger than your ego at a high school reunion, and booth decor that’ll make you scream “Where do I sign up?!” at trade shows.

Bottom line? Let’s get you some business cards that’ll make as big an impact as that cannonball icebreaker of yours at a backyard BBQ. You bring the charisma, I’ll bring the cards, and together, we’re gonna make sure nobody ever forgets whether it’s Mark or Mike again.

So what is Grey Kitty? Well. Here you’ll find musings from the depths of my mind (also some from the shallow end) and the occasional tutorial. Sometimes philosophical gibberish, other timesinspired brilliance, like when it comes to women’s rights. Yeah, I like to keep a mixed bag! And don’t be surprised if a random ‘grownup’ idea pops up. You know, the kind of things that might actually be useful in real life—keeps us all on our toes!

I know what you’re thinking. Why? Honestly, this site is a labor of procrastination love (is that even an expression?). So, whether you’re seeking a chuckle or an idea or two, I hope you find your stay refreshing. Consider it a friendly nudge away from life’s little stresses—like having a warm mug of cocoa on a chilly, grey day.

So, have a poke around. You might find it useful, you might not, but that’s the risk you’ll have to take. Let me know what tickles your fancy (by leaving a comment on what tickles your fancy)! If you are interested in having me do some design work please contact me.
